I feel really lucky to think that I have achieved a dream I had when I was 10 years old, to own my own comic book store! I moved out to Vegas a little over 5 years ago. I started attending some conventions and shows and I was really enjoying the hobby. Then the pandemic happened. I connected with the comic book community on YouTube and started selling books on various shows. I then moved to whatnot and the volume increased for a time but I was missing something. That was connecting with other collectors face to face. The first show out of the pandemic that I set up at was Old School Comic Con that I produced and continue to produce with a good buddy of mine, Barney from Shimpsons Comics. This was when my vision became clear. I loved connecting with the people and I started to expand my footprint at my old office location, and I added a showroom. Then another showroom but I had outgrown the office model. As I had been looking for some time it was really challenging to find the right location but sometimes things happen just when they should. The building I was in was put up for sale and I knew then that one way or another I would have to make a decision and determine the course for what had affectionately become known as “G.T. 's Clubhouse.” That’s when things started happening very quickly and before I knew the new location was leased and we started moving everything out of the offices and some stuff to storage and some stuff to the new store. Now when I say “we,” I would be remiss if I failed to mention the amazing people that I have had the great fortune to meet and truly become friends that helped throughout the process. Without the help and friendship I do not know if I could have achieved my dream alone. So it is with all the gratitude in my heart that I say thank you to everyone that helped bring this dream to a reality. I also have to thank everyone that came out to the grand opening and this whole week for a fantastic and successful first week in business. I am truly excited for the future here at Gorilla Todd Comics!!!
